Biography

Roberto Bolle was born in Casale Monferrato, Piedmont, in 1975 and is considered one of the greatest classical dancers of his generation. He studied at the Ballet School of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In 1996, at just 21 years old, he became principal dancer at La Scala and in 2004 he achieved the title of étoile. Throughout his career, he has performed at the world's major theaters, from the Royal Ballet in London to the Paris Opera, and since 2009, he has been a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre in New York. He has performed the great roles of the classical repertoire, from Romeo and Juliet to Swan Lake, from Sleeping Beauty to Giselle, alongside works by contemporary choreographers. He has taken dance beyond the theater with the "Roberto Bolle and Friends" gala, to piazzas, arenas, and iconic locations throughout Italy, and with the television show "Danza con me." He has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 1999. :::
